About Us

Our studio was founded by Lelia Haller in 1929. After studying in Paris, Ms. Haller returned to Louisiana to begin her life long work as a teacher of the fine art of dance. The combined techniques of the French, Italian, Russian and Spanish dance styles influenced the unique development of Lelia Haller, the compleat ballerina. Continuing her teaching style today, the current owners, Jennifer Hazelwood and Shannon Rodriguez, have remained true to the art of dance through the eyes of such a legend.

We also teach Jazz, Tap, Theater Dance and Modern Dance.

    We have revised the Fall schedule. Effective immediately ALL classes will take place in Studio B on 115 Bottinelli Street until Studio A (on Canal Street) can re-open. There will be NO CONTEMPORARY or THURSDAY VAGANOVA classes until further notice. You will be notified via email once Studio A re-opens. Click here to view revised schedule.
    Registration for Fall Classes will open on Saturday, August 5th for all students. Pass by the studio at 4916 Canal Street or 115 Bottinelli Street for early registration to make sure you get your preferred classes. Fall classes begin Tuesday, September 5th.     It's that time of the year, we are now seeking male and female dancers of all levels to audition for Ballet Louisiane's Nutcracker performance. Auditions will take place at the studio on Saturday Sept. 9th and 16th. 2:30pm for ages 6-12 and 4pm for ages 13 and up. Performances on December 1st and December 2nd. Please click here for more info.
