Our studio was founded by Lelia Haller in the 1930's. After studying in Paris, Ms. Haller returned to Louisiana to begin her life long work as a teacher of the fine art of dance. The combined techniques of the French, Italian, Russian and Spanish dance styles influenced the unique development of Lelia Haller, the compleat ballerina. Continuing her teaching style today, the current owners, Jennifer Hazelwood and Shannon Rodriguez, have remained true to the art of dance through the eyes of such a legend. The studio will be closed on Saturday, July 4th. **Fall schedule begins Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Summer Workshop Dance Arts 2009 Summer Workshop w/ Eleanor & Ian Carney, New Orleans native and nationally renowned ballet & Broadway dancers, choreographers and teachers. Other classes will be taught by guest artists to be announced. | Nutcracker Auditions will be held at our studio located at 4916 Canal Street on Saturday, September 12, 2009 OR Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Dancers and non-dancers, ages 6-up, are encouraged to attend either ONE of the above auditions. Performance dates include December 11th and 12th with a dress rehearsal on Thursday, December 10, 2009. |
